A Northeast Coach Handoff Before Practice Moves Indoors
A seasonal handoff should preserve what was observed, what the coach said, and what still needs checking. Moving indoors does not turn unfinished outdoor questions into verified distances.
Use this in the app: import the session, keep the clubs in Bag DNA, and compare one shot in Course Mode.

Make the handoff about the unfinished question
Before autumn practice moves indoors, bring your coach the question that remains unresolved on the course. A useful handoff does not need to summarize every round. It should make clear what you observed, what was discussed, and what you still want to understand.
For golfers in central New York and northeast Pennsylvania, the transition date should follow actual schedules and access. The NWS Binghamton frost-program page contains historical regional context and a dated experiment, not a current instruction that golf must move indoors on a particular day.
Select one course observation
Choose an entry that your coach can examine without reconstructing the entire season. Identify the club, the occasion, and whether the relevant landing was visible. If your memory is uncertain, say so rather than converting a general impression into a precise account.
Keep the source record nearby when possible. A reported simulator carry and a course finishing position can both be relevant, but they should not be presented as identical measurements. Your coach should see the distinction before being asked to interpret a discrepancy.
Preserve what the coach actually said
Review the original lesson note and separate the coach's instruction from your own summary. If you are unsure whether a task was suggested or merely discussed, ask. Do not attach an invented diagnosis or outcome promise to the coach's name.
For a fictional handoff, the short reminder 'Coach review: outdoor question open' fits within 50 characters. The full lesson context belongs in your separate record or conversation. A compact card note can point to the task without pretending to capture the entire coaching exchange.
Choose an indoor task with a limited purpose
Ask your coach what the next session can usefully establish. Perhaps the first step is confirming a metric label, obtaining a clearly identified carry entry, or revisiting the original question with better context. The indoor task should be described in terms of the information it can provide.
Do not call it a substitute for an outdoor observation that never occurred. A better indoor record may support the conversation while leaving the course question open. Bay2Course preserves the golfer's records and coach notes; it does not provide automated swing analysis or guarantee improvement.
Share a small, readable packet
Before the conversation, select the relevant card, the essential source context, and one question. Remove unrelated personal details from anything you send or show. A coach should not have to sift through every session to find the reason for the handoff.
Afterward, make sure your next-action reminder reflects what was actually agreed. If another outdoor check is needed, use current local information before scheduling it. The seasonal transition is complete when the next task is clear, not when every uncertainty has been hidden behind a fresh indoor baseline.

Common questions
Do I need a full season of data before speaking with my coach?
No. One clearly explained question can be enough for a useful conversation. Bring the relevant evidence and its limitations rather than delaying until the record looks complete.
Can the indoor lesson certify my outdoor distance?
Do not assume that outcome. Discuss what the session can establish and which course questions remain open. A coach review and an observed outdoor check are related activities, not interchangeable proof.
